The north end

Quieter by nature, close to everything

Kingston Plantation sits in the Arcadian Shores section of northern Myrtle Beach: oceanfront towers and villas, freshwater lakes and mature trees behind a gated entrance on Kings Road.

Arcadian Shores Golf Club, Rees Jones' first solo design, is next door; Apache Pier is a short walk down the beach; and Barefoot Landing and Tanger Outlets are minutes away by car.

Every season

When to come

Spring, in bloom

Warm days, cool evenings and gardens at their best. Brookgreen Gardens is spectacular. The ocean warms through May, and the beaches are still spacious.

Summer, in full swing

Peak beach season: long days, warm water, poolside afternoons and the full buzz of the Strand. Book early, and make the most of sunrise on the balcony before the day heats up.

Fall, golden and unhurried

The water stays warm well into the season while crowds thin out, ideal for couples, golfers and anyone who prefers a quieter beach.

Winter, for the snowbirds

Mild coastal winters, empty beaches and holiday lights, including Brookgreen Gardens' Nights of a Thousand Candles on select evenings from late November. Ask about extended stays.
